During 2006 I decided to redesign my own garden. As the client I wanted everything, a flat area for the children, an adult space for quiet dining, plenty of flowers, foliage and trees to encourage wildlife and a herb garden but above all ease of maintenance, given our busy schedule. My garden has the added complication of gradients running in two directions and is sited on bedrock limestone not too far from the soil surface.
The garden has undergone major hard landscaping and is currently in the process of having the soft landscaping put in place. As with all new gardens it is looking a bit ‘naked’ but as the plants fill their allotted spaces it will not be too long before it achieves a cosy established feel.
