Keep weeding

Tidy up the patio containers, hanging baskets and window boxes, remove unwanted plant material and wash pots to be stored.

Plant patio pots for autumn and or winter colour, select good sized healthy plants. Use free draining containers. Mix in a slow release fertiliser to the compost.

Planting and Pruning

Plant hardy spring bedding, such as forget-me-nots, polyanthus, ornamental kale, sweet Williams.

Plant spring bulbs, just about time.

Plant hardy perennials, climbers, shrubs and trees.

Lift, divide and replant clumps of congested perennials.

Order and plant bare rooted hedging plants, shrubs, trees or roses.

Prune tall roses back by a third to prevent wind damage.

Lawn

Keep mowing the lawn.
